A Little More Elegance...
That is all I require today. These rooms all have that special combination of comfort and elegance. It can be a hard chord to strike sometimes. Too elegant can read as aloof or as my Aunt use to say, "just for looks - not for sitting". These spaces are livable, breathable, elegant and filled with a wonderful airy quality that I really appreciate.

Green Whims
Okay. Last week it was white walls. This week, I'm feeling the green. Dear readers, this is my main source of frustration. I love it all. I love so many different looks. I go to the southwest to visit a friend and suddenly I'm doing all Native American prints and pieces. I meet my husband for lunch at a French cafe and I come home to plan my kitchen makeover en Provence. One night I watch Julie Taymor's Frida, and I buy an Agave for my back patio the following morning. Where does it stop? Anyway... here are those green walls I mentioned earlier. Aren't they serene? Aren't they fresh? You know you want them.

Travel Trunk
I've managed to hang onto a few of my grandmother's travel trunks, suitcases and hat boxes. I love them so much and have scattered them about the house as accents and stacked as end tables. They are among my favorite things in my home. I'll post some photos of my own suitcase stash soon, but until then enjoy these:

White Walls
Since I don't have white walls in my home and the walls I do have are covered in art and photos and clocks and whatever else I can nail up, these white, almost unadorned walls are a welcomed change of pace. The sparse, but beautiful furniture pieces are so wonderfully highlighted by the lack of other decorative distractions. I don't know if I could pull this off in my house, but I love the look of it in the photos below.
